HOT•BED is pleased to present AMPED: Where Color Becomes Power, a solo show featuring works by Kurt Herrmann curated by HOT BED’s Owner and Creative Director Bryan Hoffman.

In AMPED, painter Kurt Herrmann transforms color into energy—each canvas vibrating with rhythm, charge, and vitality. Herrmann’s bold abstractions, born from the hills of Appalachia, pulse with the same unseen forces that move through nature and technology alike. His “color bombs” radiate light and motion, revealing how hue itself can store, release, and transfer power.

Presented at Rio Tinto, a global leader in lithium and energy innovation, AMPED bridges two worlds: the elemental and the electrical, the artistic and the industrial. Just as Rio Tinto converts natural resources into energy that fuels modern life, Herrmann converts pigment into emotion, surface into spark.

Here, color is not merely seen—it’s felt. It hums, it glows, it moves.
